A quality hold blocks stock — a material, a batch, a serial number or a location — until someone decides what to do with it. Holds are created by rejection decisions and non-conformities, or by hand.

The list shows every active hold with the material, quantity, reason and the lot or NCR behind it.
Place a hold by hand
For a suspicion found in the warehouse, click New hold, pick the material (and batch or serial if relevant), quantity, warehouse and reason.
Release or dispose
On the hold, Release it if the stock is fine after all, or Dispose it: scrap (with a scrap reason), rework or return to supplier. Every outcome is recorded in the audit trail.
